Gracedom supports how mentoring and befriending can be used to bring about lasting change in people’s lives and strengthens the argument for continued and increased investment. Being a key participant in the mentoring and befriending community we aim to influence policymakers to invest in a sustainable future for the sector.

Our policy work is based around five priority areas:

• Community cohesion
• Children, young people and families
• Health and social care
• Offender-related
• Work

We develop policy position papers in consultation with other stakeholders, respond to consultations and encouraged projects to campaign and promote mentoring and befriending activity at a local level. Currently we are working on a paper on best ways of ensuring that the ‘London riots’ never again happens!
